Alpha Industries, Inc. of Sigma Plastics Group and Vanguard Plastics, Inc. announce the formation of a joint venture company known as VS Plastics.
Alpha Industries, Inc. of Sigma Plastics Group and Vanguard Plastics, Inc. announce the formation of a joint venture company known as VS Plastics. The new company has purchased the assets of Orange Plastics, Inc., a manufacturer of plastic stretch films, can liners, and retail carryout bags. Located in Compton, CA, the new company will maintain manufacturing operations in the existing Orange facility, and will supply film and can liner products exclusively to Alpha and its subsidiaries, and T-shirt and merchandise bags exclusively to Vanguard.
Orange Plastics was founded in 1989 and has been servicing customers throughout the U.S. with high quality plastic packaging products. "I am proud of our entire organization and how they have stuck together through this difficult period in our history and the industry," states Salim Bana, President and CEO of Orange. "We are looking forward to a dynamic start and successful future with the new company."
Alfred Teo, Chairman and CEO of Alpha, remarks that the purchase of the Orange assets is fortuitous. "The investment we are making in VS Plastics has come at a time when we were looking to increase our capacity in our stretch film and can liner product lines."
Vanguard will assume operating responsibility of the joint venture. Bill Seanor, Managing Partner of Vanguard Plastics, Inc. states that "throughout the evaluation process of the Orange Plastics' business two things have stood out: the quality of the people in all facets of the organization, and the quality products that they manufacture. Mr. Seanor also expressed pleasure with the markets and the strong customer base that Orange Plastics has developed over the past thirteen years.
VS Plastics will commence operation on Saturday, November 1, 2007.
